Faculty donate books to DGC library

DIMAPUR, May 1 (MExN): The Department of Economics, Dimapur Government College (DGC) conducted a ‘faculty book donation programme’ at the college library on April 30, during which faculty members donated around 60 books.

A brief programme was held at the DGC Central Library in the presence of students, teachers and college authorities. Imtikokla Ozukum, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, chaired the programme, while Anungla Aier, Head of the department, delivered the welcome address.

Speaking at the event, Neiketu Siam, Librarian, DGC, thanked the department for the donation. “Books are a gateway to knowledge and this gesture by the faculty has an immense potential to bring about change in a pupil's life, the college and eventually the society,” he said.

Dr Meripeni Ngully, Vice Principal, DGC, also spoke at the programme and congratulated the department. She said that libraries are storehouses of knowledge and the donated books would benefit the college and society at large.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Pudezono RoseTase, Associate Professor, Department of Economics.
