Phek, June 15 (MExN): Phek Police has clarified that a news item circulating on YouTube about an alleged 'rape incident and mob assault on Phek police officers' is fake. The video is being circulated on the YouTube channel of one CL Chang, titled "Morning News in Nagamese," dated June 13, PRO Phek Police stated in a press release. The matter has been enquired into and it has been ascertained that the said news item is fake, it said, adding that appropriate legal action is underway regarding the issue. A complaint has also been lodged with the Cyber Cell at Police Headquarters (PHQ), Kohima by the Phek Police, the release informed. To this end, the Phek Police requested everyone to refrain from spreading fake news and rumours, cautioning that such actions will be met with legal consequences.
