Family Planning awareness and Eye Donation fortnight conducted at Phek

Nursing mothers at mission compound during IPC sessions on Family Planning, which was held in 32 villages at four blocks of Phek District.
 
Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): District Health Society has organized Interpersonal Communication on Family Planning in 32 villages in all the four blocks of Phek District from last week of August to first week of September. The team members comprised of all BPM, Health Educator, LHV, councilors, Asha coordinator and Dy MEIO, District Program Manager and District Media Officer.
The target groups were eligible couples, women and men. They were sensitized and made aware on the temporary and permanent method of family planning through lectures, discussions and demonstrations of condoms, IUD, contraceptive pills, posters, pamphlets and leaflets, a press note said. Further, the participants were made aware and informed the free services they can avail and also made known on the side effects and misconceptions of family planning method were justified up to the expectations through their active participation. IEC materials on family planning, condoms, contraceptive pills, pregnancy test kit were distributed.
Meanwhile, a separate press note also informed that District Health Society (NPCB) Phek observed Eye Donation fortnight in the district from August 25. The programme concluded with an eye camp at Khuza PHC on September 8 by a team of Health personal comprising of Dr Imnapokim District Nodal Officer (NPCB), Khosalu staff nurse, Daniel OT Asst and Kutolu District Media Officer. During the camp Dr Pokim in his short speech deliberated the importance of eye donation and later 42 patients were treated. Medicines, posters and leaflets were given out. Posters on eye donation were pasted in and the village and at the town for awareness, informed the note.
