Kohima, March 13 (MExN): A farewell programme in honour of Upa-Lokayukta and Special Secretary (Rtd), Khanrinla T. Koza, was held at the Nagaland Lokayukta office on March 13.
In her farewell address, Koza acknowledged God for His mercy and grace that enabled her to complete her three-year term as Upa Lokayukta, Nagaland. She also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, for giving her the opportunity to serve in the office.
Koza said that working with young officers who were driven and committed to their work had been a pleasant experience. She said their willingness to work hard and focus on career progression, along with their firm commitment to uphold the integrity of the office, had encouraged her and given hope that the organisation has the potential to shine and become an example.
She urged officers and staff to continue to uphold the principles and objectives of the Nagaland Lokayukta to check corruption and ensure good governance. The organisation, she added, must continue to effectively address public complaints and grievances pertaining to corruption in public office. Koza encouraged the staff to continue working with integrity and diligence, “serving to give and finding purpose in their work regardless of whether validation or acknowledgement is given.”
She also urged them to be intentional in integrating their Christian values in the workplace by demonstrating and fostering mutual love and respect, which she said would help create a good work environment.
During the programme, Koza also noted that the Nagaland Lokayukta office was established in 2019 and said there was still much work to be done to bring it to its proper shape and entity. She appealed to all concerned to extend assistance and support to the organisation.
She further expressed gratitude for the love, support and cooperation extended to her during her tenure.
Earlier, words of appreciation for the outgoing officer were delivered by Director and DIGP Oponlumi Humtsoe, Secretary Arikumba, and Lokayukta Nino Iralu.
