Mokokchung, October 9 (MExN): The Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung hosted the annual edition of its Melange Festival from October 8 to 9, with the theme “Renaissance,” featuring a range of competitions, stalls and cultural events.
The two-day festival opened with an inaugural session in which Dr Akumjungla, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, delivered a speech on the concept note of the event, tracing the historical background of the word “Renaissance” and highlighting how rebirth and creativity have become relevant in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
The first day featured competitions in solo performance, creative writing (blackout poetry), hackathon, painting and sketching, food craft, prepared speech, and dance.
The second day witnessed an array of events, including flower arrangement, a debate on AI, dress craft, unplugged musical ensemble, and mystery solving.
The results were declared thereafter, with prize money sponsored by the teaching staff, followed by an informal session titled “Melange Unscripted.”
Various stalls set up by different departments sold a variety of food and games, alongside handicrafts and art pieces by the FAC Fine Arts Club, on both days of the festival.
