Kohima, January 22 (MExN): The Wung (Tangkhul Region) Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) on January 22 expressed profound grief and shock over the demise of Velicho Rhakho, Advisor, Naga National Council (NNC), who passed away on January 22, at his native village Khulazu Bawe in the Chakhesang region.
In a condolence message, the FGN conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family members and relatives, describing the late leader as a principled and straightforward national worker whose untimely demise was a great loss to the community and the nation.
The FGN recalled that Velicho Rhakho joined national service in the 1980s and served the nation in various capacities, including as Chaplain In-charge, Nominee Tatar, Regional President of the Chakhesang Regional Council (CRC), NNC, and later as Advisor, NNC, till his last breath.
He was remembered as a committed national leader and a trusted colleague in the defence of the Naga nation, the statement said.
NNC: The Naga National Council (NNC) expressed shock over the demise of Velicho Rhakho, Advisor, NNC. In a condolence message, the NNC said the late leader served the Naga nation in various capacities, dedicating his entire life to national service.
Describing him as a true patriot and committed national leader, it said the vacuum created by his death would be irreplaceable. The NNC conveyed its deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.
