Dimapur, August 24 (MExN): The FGN (of Singnya) today said Naga society “lately,” has been witnessing some people and groups claiming themselves to be workers under various names like “accordist, non-accordist, NNC (parent body) etc” and accepting “donations” from the “unwary public.”
A note from the FGN acknowledged that today there are “some” people who join what the note called “national service” but for purely selfish interests. “It is these people who practice extortion through threats and coercion. These elements have tarnished the reputation of all national workers and are instrumental in the development of negative attitudes toward the national workers as money hungry mongers to the extent of branding them as extortionists,” the FGN stated.
A note form the FGN (Singnya) cautioned the public “against such unscrupulous peoples” who the note said, “had marred our noble cause.” It claimed that the group “at no point of time, strayed away or wavered from the principles enshrined in the yehzabo of Nagaland, the declaration of independence 1947 and the historic national plebiscite of 1951.” Saying to “uphold this sacred trust,” the FGN note said to verify all appeals for “donations” and “taxations” at 919402290276.
