Dimapur, March 24 (MExN): The 59th Republic Day of the Federal Government of Nagaland in the Western and Eastern sectors was celebrated at Yoruba National Prayer House and Noklak town of Chakhesang and Khiamniungan Region respectively on March 22.
Delegates from Chakhesang Region, Sumi Region, Phom Region, Sangtam Region, Konyak Region, Pochury Region and Angami Region attended. Leaders from villages of the area also attended the occasion, stated a press release issued by Secretary, Ministry of Rali Wali Affairs (NNC/FGN), G Zhimomi.
Coinciding with the event, Ino. Zhopra Vero, Kedallo, FGN; Ino. Zaleo Sapuh, Killo Kilonser, FGN; and Ino. Rukulhu Phuswuo, Speaker, Tatar Hoho, FGN were felicitated and recognized for their 25 years (Silver Jubilee-1989-2014) of service to the nation. The Midan Peyu of Chakhesang Region, Ino. Zapoi Swuro awarded the Certificate of Recognition of service to the three “national leaders”.
The celebration was led by Ino. Pokhuyi Khusoh, Secretary, CRC, NNC. Rev. T. Phesao read out a Bible verse from the book of Eccl. 6:11 and said the invocation prayer. The message of the Kedahge was read out to the gathering and short speeches were delivered by, Ino. Hekhuvi Achumi, Lota Kilonser; Ino. Litsaba, Dy. Killo Kilonser, Killo Affairs; Ino. Hamshau Phom, Dy. Lota Kilonser; and Ino. Victor, Midan Peyu, Pochury Region.
Words of encouragement and prayer of blessing was pronounced by Rev. Pastor, Pukrolhu Lohe, Yoruba Baptist Church. Ino. Zhopra Vero also delivered a note on Reminiscence and Reflection on service to the nation over the past 25 years. Words of gratitude was pronounced by Ino. Zapoi Swuro, Midan Peyu, CR, FGN.
According to the note, the celebration proved to be a challenge to all national workers to rededicate oneself in the service of the nation. Further, it was also a reawakening of the public to remain committed to the Plebiscite of 1951 and unwaveringly support the cause of Naga nation for freedom, it added.
