Medziphema, August 31 (MExN): As part of the three-month saturation campaign for Financial Inclusion schemes, a campaign for saturation of the same, organised by the Financial Inclusion and Development Department (FIDD), Kohima, was conducted at Sirhima Village GP, Medziphema block on August 30.
During this saturation campaign, 300 villagers were sensitized on key financial topics, stated a DIPR report.
Chief General Manager, FIDDD, RBI CO, R Giridharan, in his short speech emphasised the importance of banking as an important part of life. He explained to the gathering the importance of these saturation camps and how they will benefit the people, the importance of re-KYC and the opportunity provided by the banks and benefit from such camps.
Deputy General Manager (C&A), BoB Zonal Office, Guwahati, Biswajit Swain, highlighted financial inclusion. Surabhi Bhattacharyya, Deputy General Manager (B&O) SBI Administrative Office, Jorhat, explains the need for awareness of social security schemes such as PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY and the objective of basic banking facilities and benefits of such schemes.
ADC Medziphema, P James Swu, NCS, highlighted the general ground perspective and briefed the gathering on the importance of KYC. He also concluded by urging the people to fully avail the opportunity provided by the camp to clarify doubts and be equipped with all the banking facilities, Sibo Nekhini, General Manager (O-i-C), RBI Kohima. Highlighted on financial security schemes and financial & digital Literacy, and also enrollment in the schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, etc and how to avail the benefits. He also briefed on the awareness of digital fraud prevention.
The welcome address was presented by Nenei Hansing, Lead District Manager, Chumukedima and the vote of thanks was given by Mangta Snouts, AGM RBI, Kohima.
The campaign, which started from July 1-September 30, aims to ensure universal coverage under various government-sponsored financial schemes and promote financial inclusion and development in the region.
