Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): Payment of financial assistance to living World War II veterans under Kohima and Phek districts will be made on May 8 and the 9th at Old Sainik Rest House, ‘D’ Block Opposite the Gurduwara, Kohima, informed Lieutenant Colonel SI Jakhalu (Retd), Secretary Rajya Sainik Board, Nagaland. The date of payment for other districts will be announced separately.
It was informed that veterans from other districts may also collect their payment from Kohima, if so wishing to do so. Payment will be made only to individual veteran on produce of ex-servicemen Identity Card and Pension payment Book issued by the RSB as per Government Order.
No payment would be made to any other person even on the produce of authority/authorization letter, sickness or Living certificate. The rate of financial assistance has been enhanced from the existing Rs 300 per month to Rs 500 per month with effect from April 1, 2005, by the Government of Nagaland, it was added.
