One house was completely gutted by a fire in Seluophe village, Chümoukedima, on October 27. As told to The Morung Express, the fire started around 6:00 pm. It rapidly engulfed the bamboo structure with CGI roofing, while two LPG cylinders in the kitchen exploded.
The flames were controlled after fire-fighters from Chümoukedima and Dimapur (Central) responded to the scene. Property estimated to be around Rs 4 lakhs was damaged. the fire was reportedly caused by an electrical short-circuit.
