Kohima, Mar 13 (MExN): On attainment of the glorious 25 years since its establishment in 1981, the First Assembly of God Church, situated at Officer’s Hill, Kohima celebrated its silver jubilee from March 11 to 12 last. The Assemblies of God works and ministries began officially in 1981 at Kohima.
“God has given a great burden and clear vision to Rev. T. Angami to pioneer a church who believed full gospel of Jesus Christ and the Bible is the spoken word of God, given to mankind for forgiveness of sin and redemption through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His immanent return for the saints,” according to the Souvenir commemorating the silver jubilee celebration.
As co-worker my dear wife Lhoupfenuo Angami and I had invited few people to have fellowship in our small rented house at D’ Block Kohima on Sunday for about 7 days since 1990, Rev. TR. Angami penned in the Church’s souvenir.
The Assembly of God English School was introduced and established in the year 1986 with 20 students. The school has been upgraded to High School. Today, hundreds of poor students are helped and given free tuition every academic year.
Through the ministry of the International Correspondence Institute, thousands of students were reached with literatures. Hundreds of them made a commitment to follow Christ and accepted Him as their personal Lord and Saviour.
Two years Bible Study course was established and dedicated by rev. Dr. Huldah Buntain, President of Kolkatta Assembly of God Mission on November 11, 1994. Hundred of men and women got their training and studied God’s word.
During the celebration of silver Jubilee on March 12, Assistant Pastor Kesovilhou led the service. Rev. Dr. Neikeduozo Paphino, President, Nagaland Christian Revival Church delivered the message of God.
S. Mepfuo, Pastor, Rusoma, AG Church, Rev. Diehalie, sectional Evangelist, Khriezolie, Pastor, Zhadi Basa AG Church and Rev. Moses Murry, secretary Nagaland District AGEI were delivered greeting messages.
Ruokuohetuo, Youth Pastor Chumukedima AG Church led bible reading while Medochünuo, Women pastress said offering prayer.
Special numbers from Jubilee Choir- Zhadima Christ Ambassador Union, Triumphant Trio and Kohima AG Bible School Students had completely enthralled the congregation.
Rev.T.R. Angami, senior Pastor, Superintendent of Nagaland District Assemblies of God East India tendered vote of thanks.
Earlier, the dedication of the silver jubilee stone was done by Rev. TR. Angami on March 11. Kuolievi, secretary led the service while ex pastor Rev. Ketsoza said a prayer.
Associate pastor Razousilie led the morning service while Rheituozhu, treasurer, delivered welcome address. Neihutuo, Chairman Zhadima Kechaki said a bible reading while V. Sekhose IAS, Retd secretary Government of Nagaland released the souvenir.
Vivolie, Pastor Tenyimia AG Church, Dimapur, Viphrezo, Pastor, Chiedema AG Church, Thepfusalhou, Pastor Zhadi Bawe AG Church, Pilamo Ngullie, Pastor, Lotha AG Church, Kohima and Rev. T. Nyekha, Pastor, AG Church, Kiyieke, Kohima were delivered greeting messages. Rev. T. R. Angami acted as the main speaker of the service. Special numbers of jubilee choir, Local Church Christ Ambassador, mass prayer also marked the service.
