The much awaited first ever Christmas Night Carnival got underway here tonight at town square with N. Bendang Jamir, President of NDPP Mokokchung Region as special invitee.
The three-night carnival is being jointly organized by Adventure & Motorsports Association Mokokchung (AMAM) and Mokokchung District Musicians Association (MDMA) under the aegis of Mokokchung Municipal Council.
The carnival opens at 6:00 PM and goes on till 9:00 PM. The carnival kick started with a special “band party” by the 2nd NAP Battalion. About 40 stalls were seen open tonight and more are expected to join in for the next two nights. Food stalls, funfair stalls, photo booths and music booths are some of the features of the carnival. Seen here are glimpses of the town’s first ever carnival of its kind.
