First Dimapur Art Festival underway

The First Dimapur Art Festival organised by Eastern Art Council (EAC) in collaboration with Task Force for a music and Arts (TaFMA) was inaugurated by DMC administrator, Albert Ezung on October 15 at shop no 33, supermarket Dimapur.
The Art Festival will be held till October 19 and thereafter the gallery will remain open for 6 days a week.
A DIPR report stated that Albert Ezung while welcoming the gathering explained the main purpose of the inauguration of art gallery that it was for the love of art. He said through this art festival local artists will be promoted and also appeal the government department to promote the artist by buying from them.
He congratulated EAC Coordinator, Myingthungo Ababe Ezung for taking the bold initiative for bringing local and non artist together to interact, promote and work together. He encouraged the young enthusiastic artists to excellent in whatever profession they choose to pursue. He also said choosing a profession is not important but what is important is excellent in what we choose and excellence is the key word to any profession. He urged all the young people to come out of comfort zone and be bold to venture, and this art festival provides the perfect platform.
Altogether 37 artists showcased their art. The art festival also witnessed art competition with the theme “The environment I dream” where several schools participated.
