Five minors rescued in Guwahati Railway Station

Maligaon, January 23 (MExN): The railway protection force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) in two different incidents has rescued five minor children at the Guwahati Railway Station on January 22.

In one incident, RPF Constable, Sangita Sarma on duty at Guwahati Railway Station noticed one minor girl entering into the station through the main entrance gate in “distressed condition” around 6:45 am.

On approaching the minor, she informed the constable that she has fled from her home at Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh without any intimation her parents or relatives in search of job to Delhi. The girl was brought to RPF Post Guwahati for necessary action. One Aadhar card, school identity card, clothes, one Samsung smart phone, two bank pass books (SBI & Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank) and cash Rs 1,430 were found in her bag. After informing her brother and observing all formalities, she was handed over to Railway Child Line Guwahati for safe custody. 

In another incident, Asst Sub Inspector, JS Wunganing with Constable Sangita Sarma and members of Railway Childline Guwahati noticed four minor boys in PF no-7 of Guwahati Railway Station in “distressed condition” around 11:10 am. 

On approaching them, the boys revealed that they have run away from their home without any intimation to their parents in search of job. While three of them hailed from Begusarai in Bihar and one was a resident of Samastipur districts.

They could not provide any contact number of their parents or relatives. They were handed over to Railway Childline Guwahati, stated a press release issued by Subhanan Chanda, Chief Public Relations Officer. 

One arrested with brown sugar worth Rs 6 lakh 
Meanwhile, acting in a tipoff, the RPF Agartala along with GRP & SB of Tripura detained one lady with 16 packets of brown sugar on January 21 at Agartala Railway Station.

She had reportedly travelled by the Silchar-Agartala special accompanied by her husband who managed to flee. During interrogation, it was revealed that “they have a good network in Myanmar-Manipur-Dimapur to Tripura and Mumbai.” 

The market value of the recovered item is approximately worth Rs 6 lakh.
