DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 24 (MExN): The NSCN Khaplang has stated that in yet another “flagrant betrayal of commitment, the Khehoi gangster ambushed the People’s Army Cadres, near Piellhang village on February 24th morning at around 8-9 am and killed one Pvt. Gairalung of Nagasin village, Tamenglong district. According to a press note from the MIP, on the evening of 22 February, also the same “gang ambushed the Bolero driven by a civilian family member while returning back to Kohima after visiting Athibung and two occupants were injured, however managed to escape”.
“All these dastard offensives were carried out after formal communication were reached with regard to complete cessation of any form of hostility till the proposed reconciliation meet being convened on 29 Feb 2012”, stated the press note. The NSCN Khaplang mentioned that the CO Athibung NSCN/GPRN, Lt. Col. Isak Sumi and Kilonser C. Singson of Khehoi “repeatedly communicated and assured each other to recall and restrain armed cadres from launching any offensive as in responses to FNR call”. “Accordingly People’s Army were returning back to the camp the next morning, however quite deliberately, Khehoi gang taking advantage of our peaceful withdrawal ambushed our cadres and killed one. It is for the people to judge and distinguish the patriots and traitors”, stated the MIP.
