Focus on professionalism, minister Azo tell students

Middle Khomi (Phek dist) | December 27: Minister for health & family welfare Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu today stressed on the need to focus on professionalism to march ahead with the competitive world.
Speaking at the golden jubilee celebration of Middle Khomi Students Union (MKSU) here this morning under the theme “Envisioning excellence,” the minister said the students from the Chakhesang tribe mostly go after art stream and pay little attention towards professional course.
Also stating that sports, music, dance, engineering, designing, fashion etc. have become an industry in this modern world, he called upon the students to choice the right profession according to their capabilities and talents.
Azo said a time has come for everyone to actively involve in whatever field they are good at and get specialization. In this respect, he suggested the Chakhesang leaders or Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) to do a research, and push the students to stick to the right profession according to their capabilities.
Stating that there is no substitute to hard work, the minister maintained that success will be possible only through sheer hard work.
The minister also called upon the Chakhesangs not to become a liability to the society but to become an asset to the Naga society. “Let the Nagas feel proud of us,” he said.
Touching on backward tag, he also urged upon the Chakhesangs to change their mindset and work hard to compete with other advanced tribes.
Complimenting the MKSU for attaining 50 glorious years, the minister also called upon them to introspect and retrospect its achievement as well as failure and adopt a comprehensive strategy to move toward greater height.
He strongly advocated that the Union must do a research and enhance its method to compete with others, and also to bring quality education.
The minister also released a souvenir to mark the 50 years of MKSU.
Earlier, MKSU president Küvera C. Nakro delivered presidential address.
MLA Deo Nukhu, advisor science & technical education, art & culture and new & renewable energy also graced the talent exposition.
The golden jubilee celebration will go on till December 28 with Zhopayi Nakro, president Chakhesang Youth Front as the guest of honour.
Neichüte Doulo, co-ordinator (CEO) Entrepreneurs Associates will be the jubilee speaker on day two.
The jubilee celebration is being marked by solo, duet indigenous, dance, folktale competition, prepared speech, jubilee feast and tug war.
