Follow Jesus’ examples of peace, love and forgiveness: Nagaland Governor

Mukhi extends Good Friday, Easter wishes

Kohima, April 14 (MExN): The Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Thursday extended wishes for a blessed Good Friday and a happy Easter to the people of Nagaland.

“Good Friday is a day of adoration and absolution. It is a day of victory for good over evil,” the Governor stated in his message.

“As the gospel says ‘While we were still sinners Christ died for us all,’ He died on the Cross so that humankind can live in peace and harmony,” he added.

The Governor further noted that Easter is celebrated in memory of the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ and reminded that it symbolises ‘hope’ - for a new beginning preceded with a sacrifice made out of pure love.

“Jesus revealed his pure love for all mankind with selfless sacrifice.  His resurrection demonstrates victory of love over hate. Let us therefore, renew our determination to follow His examples of peace, love and forgiveness,” he added.

“I hoped the celebration of Easter will renew us all with the assurance of hope, healing, salvation and everlasting joy and May the true spirit of Good Friday be with all of us in thoughts and in action,” Mukhi further stated.
