Kohima, July 10 (MExN): Kohima Deputy Commissioner B Henok Phom, officially inaugurated the FoodWiFi food delivery app at his office in Kohima on Thursday, marking the launch of a homegrown digital platform aimed at supporting local businesses and generating employment opportunities in Nagaland.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, Phom underscored the importance of entrepreneurship, describing it as the need of the hour.

He observed that opportunities in the public sector are becoming increasingly limited and encouraged the younger generation to embrace entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-employment as viable career paths.

The public sector is largely saturated, and it is time for our youth to look beyond government jobs by creating opportunities for themselves and others through entrepreneurship," he said.

Speaking on the occasion, FoodWiFi CEO Anato Sema shared the vision behind the platform, stating that the initiative was conceived to benefit both educated and uneducated youths of Nagaland by creating livelihood opportunities across different sectors.

Sema said FoodWiFi also aims to provide a strong local alternative to major food delivery platforms operating from outside the state.

He emphasized that the platform seeks to strengthen Nagaland's economy by keeping business, employment, and revenue within the state while supporting local restaurants, vendors, delivery partners, and entrepreneurs.

He expressed confidence that FoodWiFi would not only offer convenience to customers but also contribute to building a sustainable local ecosystem where economic benefits remain within Nagaland.

The inauguration reflects a growing emphasis on promoting indigenous entrepreneurship and digital innovation to drive economic growth and employment generation in the state.
