The Zunheboto District Football Referee Association (ZDFRA) kicked off its two-day district-level football referee seminar cum induction programme at Natha New Village under Zunheboto District on April 21. It aimed at enhancing refereeing standards and inducting new members into the Association.

The programme began in the morning with an invocation by Pastor Inoka Chophy of Natha New Baptist Church (NNBC), followed by self-introductions from the trainees. ZDFRA President Kihoyi Zhimo officially declared the seminar open, highlighting the vital role of trained referees in ensuring fair play and discipline in football.

The opening day featured a series of technical sessions on the Laws of the Game, conducted by AIFF Level 6 referees Inahoto Assumi and Botoka Jakhalu. The sessions covered Laws 1 to 17, providing participants with comprehensive insights into match regulations and officiating responsibilities. A practical session was also held to give trainees hands-on experience on the field, followed by an interactive question hour.

ZDFRA President Kihoyi Zhimo informed that a total of six trainees are currently undergoing the training session.

The programme will continue on April 22 with further practical sessions, assessment of newly inducted members, and a closing ceremony.
