Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): The Phom People's Council (PPC) has voiced support for the representation submitted by the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) to the State government demanding positive response with regard to the construction of foothill road.
The NFHRCC had given a deadline of 30 days to the government, which will expire on September 6. The PPC lamented the apathetic approach of the government to the crucial issue at hand, stating that the people living in far flung regions of the state have deprived of their basic rights and entitlements.
“A good road is one of such basic rights entitled to all the citizens. We urge the state government to look into the plight of the public and expedite the foothills road work with utmost priority,” it stated. The PPC further affirmed that it would not remain silent if the government fails to comply with the demands set by NFHRCC.
