DIMAPUR, APRIL 23 (MexN): The GPRN/NSCN, under the leadership of Chairman Gen. (Retd) Khole Konyak and General Secretary N Kitovi Zhimomi, has reiterated that the Indo-Naga political solution demands practical solution with clear opinion and will of the people. Ambiguity and inconsistent politics has failed the Nagas for many years, stated a press note issued by the MIP, GPRN/NSCN.
Clearly stating that the Indo-Naga political struggle has entered what it described as “a more practical zone”, the GPRN/NSCN informed that it was making necessary preparations to consult all strata of Naga society to pursue the realistic political solution that is acceptable to the Naga people.
“GPRN/NSCN makes it clear that S.S Khaplang, who was impeached and expelled from NSCN on 7th June 2011, is reportedly in touch with the junta backed Burma government to seek some sort of autonomy under Burmese constitution, has lost all legitimacy in western Naga homeland”, the MIP note stated.
While stating that the GPRN/NSCN shall extend its solidarity to Naga Brethren everywhere at all times however it pointed out that S.S Khaplang has “charted a clear unilateral political destiny for Naga people in Eastern sector (Burma) and for which the so called Emissary of S.S Khaplang should avoid addressing the Naga people in the Western sector because GPRN/NSCN is upto the task and in consultation with the people, shall pursue a political solution that is acceptable to the Nagas”.
Towards this onerous task, GPRN/NSCN informed that it has begun seeking the opinion of the Naga Frontal Organisations, Tribal Hohos, Naga Intellectuals, civil societies and concerned individuals. “Indo-Naga political solution cannot bear fruit without the people’s approval. Towards this, GPRN/NSCN welcomes all positive inputs from all Nagas including the Naga legislators in the state of Nagaland, Manipur, Assam or Arunachal Pradesh”.
Stating that it was understandable that the “sixty Naga Legislators in the state of Nagaland may not mean much to S.S Khaplang or his so-called Emissary because their attention and wisdom covers only Nagas living in Burma and therefore severing themselves off from Naga legislators serves their purpose”. “For NSCN Chairman Gen. (Retd) Khole Konyak and General Secretary N Kitovi Zhimomi, now is the time for consultation among the Nagas”. It stated.
