Four from Nagaland selected to represent India at Asian Games

Kohima, August 17 (MExN): Two women Sepaktakraw players and two women coaches from Nagaland have been selected to represent India at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, scheduled to be held from September 19 to October 4.

The two players are Menenu Tsukru of AIPSCB/SSB and Seyiekhrieno Tepa of State Girls Academy, Dimapur.

The two coaches are Puleno Neikha, Sepaktakraw coach with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland, and Pungotolu Puro of the ABSIDGP Sports Team (Sepaktakraw), Nagaland Police.

Both Neikha and Puro are among Nagaland’s accomplished senior women Sepaktakraw players and will now serve as coaches for the Indian women’s Sepaktakraw team at the Asian Games.

The selection marks the fifth consecutive Asian Games since 2010 in which Sepaktakraw players and coaches from Nagaland have represented India. The Nagaland Sepaktakraw Association congratulated all four representatives and wished them success as they represent Nagaland and India at the continental sporting event.
