Four houses belonging to shopkeepers in Kiphire were gutted by fire today in the main town. The timely arrival of a fire engine and the intervention of the district administration managed to bring the fire under control and eventually the fire was doused. A short circuit was reported to be the cause.
Property worth more than Rs. 3 Lakh was destroyed by the fire. Two persons sustained minor injuries and were administrated first aid by District Hospital Kiphire. The Kiphire District Administration has assured the provision of immediate relief to the victims.
Two fire tenders and 22 firemen, including OC and 2nd OC, were there to douse the fire today.
