Gay culture in Nagaland?

Yanren Kikon: Should GAY culture be encouraged in Nagaland? 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor HOMOSEXUAL offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." (NIV).

Raitu Tisoser Haralu: It shouldn't be encouraged but it should be accepted. I have friends who I don't know whether they are lesbian/gay or not but they act and live like one.. Maybe they are but I never ask them. They live like normal human beings and has even achieved more than most straight ladies/guys. It would be sad if our society doesn't accept them and they are forced to get out of our society.

Ayim Jamir: Should not be encouraged at all, because Nagas are terrific in imitations and copying and today's youngsters may foolishly identify this with being trendy and in vogue(if encouraged). Nevertheless, we should not discriminate either. Rather, I would suggest awareness and sensitizations programs to tackle this alarmingly rising issue. And I repeat 'alarming' because within a couple of months I encountered such two gay couples openly showing their affections in public places in Dimapur.

Along Changkija: 2 decades ago, nobody here knew about them. A decade ago gays and lesbos existed only in America. 5 years back, it creeped into our society. And now, I guess they are in our bedroom. A culture is never encouraged or adopted. They just blend it with time. And being forerunners in adopting western concepts, no wönder it has crept in to our society. Now I can hear people and friends around me talking openly about it. I feel so sorry for them. But it’s their choice. God save those souls who even gives a split thought about it.

Bazo Kire: What two consenting adults do in the privacy of a room is none of our business. I saw that someone quoted the Bible on the thread. I hope he/she quoted it as a mirror to look at him/herself for correction and not point fingers at others. Homosexuality is not new in our society, it is just that we started talking about it or rather, it has started annoying us.

Neivikhotso Chaya: Problem with people is that hatred only yields more hatred. It is clear homosexuality is a SIN! But who gives anyone the right to insult them, beat them, mock them or anything. I do not mean to discount the degree of sin but if you really look into the Bible it also says 'Hate the sin, not the sinners'!

I am not supporting homosexuality here but I also do not like it when people quote the Bible once and soils the later comments with profanity. It's like preaching against sin and doing it right away.

Kilangla Ajem: I think what dirties Nagaland more is the double faced Christians, corrupted officials, straight people sleeping around with multiple partners, other's wives and husbands, straight people abusing their spouses! And many more! These are the things that should irk us for real.

Do we need political connections to get jobs in Nagaland?

Flora Kent: I think everyone deserve to know this. I am very discouraged, dear brethrens, excitingly I told one of my Iriend "Hey u know what, I just submitted my form for graduate teacher exam". The answer I least expected, instead of wishing me "All the best" or something like that, he said "Do you have any political back up, back up is needed".

Doesn't mean I'm good and I'll get through the exam but don’'t the deserving candidate deserve it?

WHY? WHY? I'M SO SPEECHLESS, SHOULD I SAY CORRUPTION???

Jack Jagoi: All the best! We, the people, the watchdogs of democracy, should sincerely strive to put in place a strong leadership committed to democratic ideals. The corrupt system needs complete overhaul.

John Heart: Flora, I’m on your side. Me too I have been watching this political game of backup, in your case, I think it should be based on knowledge and wisdom, and not that what we call political backup. Of course its necessary in some places, but not in this type(exam). If people are not sure to get through those exam then why should attempt it with political backup? This is the main problem why our highly educated Naga youth are left behind. Even our political leaders should realise that. Our People need educated people and not just political backup. They(political leaders) should realise Flora's genuine case.

Kevitho Kera: I was selected for an interview for a Department which i won't name. My Relative advised me to talk to my aunty who is a Biggie in that Department to get the Job. I flatly said no saying I will get it Fair and Square. In the end, yes i was not selected which maybe because i was not good enough but what surprised me was all the selected candidates were related one way or the other with the Department Heads :-). Welcome to Nagaland Sweetie, But don't give up yet because God is up there and there are people who get their jobs because of Hard Work and I've seen that. I haven't given up on NPSC yet despite what people say about NPSC because there are genuine candidates who become E.A.C.’s and D.S.P’s because of hard work and I know one day my turn will come because there is God who levels everything now or later.

Manpai Konyak Nekong: Our life ain’t fairytale or drama!! It’s hard to work hard and moreover at present even hard work bears lesser fruits! These fact we all should know and perhaps not to forget the impact of money power, backups etc. these are all making our outlook towards the aims literally far more easier and thus suppressing the excellence, the perfectionist, the cent-percent-man(%).
