DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): The Grandchildren of Sümi’s (GCS) will mark 100 years of the Labour Corps (LC) who went to France in March 1917 during the 1st World War and returned to Nagaland in June,1918.
The event aims to celebrate "orally transmitted form of communication by our Grandfathers and to salute them - which we believe that they have handed down to us, as today’s generation,” informed a press note from the GCS volunteer members. Committee members have voluntarily decided to hold the event on October 18 at 10:00am at NUS-Students’ Library, Charity Residential School & Montessori, 5th Mile Dimapur.
The GCS volunteer members appealed all the grand children of Labour Corps members of 1917-18 to attend the meeting and share the experience of their grandfathers during the celebration.
