Genesis of Ao literature released

Dimapur, June 8 (MExN): A book titled “Aoo Kaketkeno Lipok – Juri Otsü Ka” meaning ‘Genesis of Ao Literature – A Personal Experience’ authored by Rev. Dr. I. Ben Wati was released this evening at the residence of his youngest brother, I. Imkong, MLA at Diphupar Village, Dimapur.
The book was formally released by Pastor Lipok of Diphupar Ao Baptist Arogo in the presence of Church members, friends, well wishers, family members and relatives. The book, which is authored in Ao Naga dialect gives a vivid in-depth into the genesis and development of Ao literature started by Dr. E.W. Clark who authored the Ao Naga dictionary in 1911.
The author, who is settled in Oxford, has to his credit a number of books as well as numerous translations, the most notable one being the “Temeshi Lai” or the Holy Bible from English into Ao dialect. The book will be available in all leading bookstalls at the cost of Rs. 100.
