GHS Dilong celebrates centennial jubilee

Mokokchung, August 26 (DIPR): Centennial jubilee celebration of Government High School, Dilong, Mokokchung was held on August 26 at Town Hall, Mokokchung with Director School Education, Nagaland, Khevito Sema and MLA Toshipokba gracing the occasion as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest expressed his appreciation to all the past and present individuals for the contribution and sacrifice made, to achieve this milestone, which is a mater of pride and honour. Educational Institution is a place where the future generation are shaped and nurtured to become responsible citizens, it is therefore a bounded responsibility of every teacher to be sincere and dedicated in imparting quality education, he added. Expressing concern over issues pertaining to the department, he pointed out that concrete approach is needed to set things in the right direction.
Toshipokba in his speech saluted the pioneers for their vision in setting up the Institution, which for the past hundred years produced luminaries in many fields. While celebrating this auspicious occasion, we should reflect the past achievements and march ahead with new vision for the future, he added.
Speaking on the Centenary theme “Nourriture for Tomorrow”, Rev. Ponen stated that nurturing is a process of development and growth of a child with fostering care and dedication. As children are the most treasured assets of the society, he maintained that quality education is need for their holistic development as an individual.
