Kohima, September 3 (MExN): The Government Higher Secondary School Kigwema under Kohima district has been declared "Litter- Free Campus" on September 2 in the presence of Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland.
Addressing the gathering, Kenye reminded the students that GHSS Kigwema is fortunate to be one of the 17 Lighthouse School Complex in the state and urged the school to take bold innovative initiatives in transforming the quality of education.
Quoting “Cleanliness is next to godliness,” Kenye reminded students and teachers that though it refers to purity of soul, high standard sanitation and hygiene is vital for everyone.
He challenged the students to be a good steward of God by taking good care of the surroundings by protecting it.
Kenye also lamented on the rampant dumping of waste materials in public places, roads, and parks and urged the students to be the ambassador of change.
He stated that big changes in the world always start in a small way with few committed people.
Rose Chishi, Principal of the school administered pledge to students and teachers for adoption of Litter-Free Campus in the school.
