GMS established in 1968 up-graded to high school

Tuensang, December 17 (DIPR): The newly up-graded Government High School Sangkor inauguration programme was held at Sangphur village with Parliamentary Secretary IPR Economic & Statistics Nagaland R. Tohanba as the chief guest. The school was established in the year 1968 from class A to class 3 and gradually up-graded to what it is now over the years.
The chief guest unveiled the monolith in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Tuensang T. Mhabemo Yanthan and Director (RMSA), Joint Director School Education, ADC Shamator, Chairmen and Village Councils from Sangphur and Yakor village and public.
Speaking as the chief guest R. Tohanba thanked and appreciated the education department for the initiative undertaken for up-grading the middle school to high school and also provided necessary infrastructure and completed the work in time. He also extended his thankfulness and appreciation to district administration who made great concern in completing the up-graded programme and also to all the people and agencies who are directly or indirectly involved for the success of the up-gradation of the school.
Since the school is located between Sangphur and Yakor village he called upon the council and people of these villages to have more co-ordination and public to extent their co-operation to all matters relating to the success and to produce quality education. He also spoke on the topic of National Education Policy “Right to Education” on which he elaborated in detail about the policy. To avail the facilities and to achieve total success in implementing this policy he appealed all teachers, parents, students and school managing board to have more co-ordination among themselves.
Earlier the programme was chaired by DEO Tuensang. Invocation by pastor SBC while welcome address was delivered by Yanthrongba VEC, special number by students Sangkor GHS and Sangphur Baptist Church choir. Short speeches were also delivered by Deputy Commissioner Tuensang T.Mhabemo Yanthan, Director (RMSA), Hd.GB, Sangphur, Hd.GB, Yakor, President, YTC and Joint Director, School Education. The programme ended with the benediction by Pastor, YBC.
