Late Mr Yajen Aier
Every nation is guided by one important person—‘God’ and the other current is ‘Events’. If you look at everything through the chain of human history, it is awe-inspiring…for example the destiny of India---Mahatma Gandhi decided to have only one policy i.e. non-violence and because of Gandhi’s leadership, India was guided by this force of non-violence. India got her independence from the mighty British Empire. Gandhi’s commitment to non-violence and his weapon of truth was able to persuade the British rulers…Gandhi’s emergence was itself an event and India could achieve its goal. And when we study similar stories around the world we come to realize the power of ‘God’ and the current of ‘Events’.
The important two currents in every nation are ‘God’ and ‘Events’. When we look back to America, all of us know how they existed before…they had no knowledge of the outside world. All of us know about the discovery of America and the rest is history…and now when we think of the destiny of the Naga people and land, its amazing…the Aos did not know the Sumis, the Lothas did not know the Sumis, the Angamis did not know the Chakhesang; all of us were living in our own world without knowledge of the others…we were living on our own…. we lived in isolation without knowing each other or seeing each other… slowly we started becoming one because of the power of God and today our land, the tribes and people…we are experiencing the unity of Christ.
Today after many many years of sufferings, trouble, bloodshed, killings in which many good people have died in the process…now people are talking of coming together and reconciliation of our national groups and tribes…..God has send a big force…the biggest personality of every nation is God…however for it to come into being we have to look at the Event….what is the future event which we do not see…but God has already seen this future and I can say that we are looking at a future event that will shape the destiny of the Nagas…
God and Events—the two important forces…in due course of time…gradually, finally an event occurs in every nation, every tribe etc. and because of this a people’s destiny is decided…. This is the course of human history…this is what I want to say to the Naga people—God is the most important force that will guide the destiny of the Nagas and a time will come when we will witness an event that will change the course of the Naga people and nation…..
(A few days before passing away, Yajen Aier called for his eldest grandson and told him to take note of a few things he wanted to say. A voice recorder was used to tape the above message he wanted to convey to the Nagas.
