Dimapur, April 10 (MExN): The Government of India and the NSCN-K (Khango) have “mutually decided” to extend their Ceasefire Agreement for one year, effective April 18, 2026, till April 17, 2027, in a bid to “bring about a lasting peace in the State of Nagaland with the involvement of Naga People.”
The agreement was signed in New Delhi on April 10 by representatives of both sides, Niraj Kumar Bansod, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, on behalf of the Government of India, and A Imyapangba Ao and Mughaka Zhimo, members of the Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFSB), on behalf of NSCN-K (Khango).
An update received here stated that the ceasefire will be subject to adherence to the Ceasefire Ground Rules mutually agreed and signed by the two sides. “The Ceasefire Ground Rules will be subject to mutual review and amendment with the involvement of both the parties.”
“Both the parties accordingly append their signatures, on this date, April 10, 2026 herein under, to give effect to the Ceasefire Agreement,” it added.
