Gov, CM extend greetings on Teachers’ Day

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 4 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, and Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio have extended greetings and appreciation to teachers in Nagaland and across the country on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2025.

The Governor acknowledged the tireless efforts and invaluable contributions of teachers towards nation-building. He stated that teachers are the bedrock of the education system — mentors who guide, role models who inspire, and nurturers who devote themselves to moulding the young minds of the nation.

“Beyond imparting knowledge, teachers kindle curiosity, instil values, and encourage students to think critically and creatively. They help children discover their potential, nurture their aspirations, and prepare them to meet the challenges of tomorrow with confidence and integrity. In this era of rapid change and global interconnectedness, their influence extends far beyond the classroom, shaping not only informed individuals but also compassionate and responsible citizens,” the Governor said.

He also acknowledged the recipients of the prestigious State Level Teachers’ Awards and the National Teachers’ Awards 2025. He lauded their innovation, passion, and exemplary service, calling them a source of pride for Nagaland and an inspiration to the entire teaching fraternity.

Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio said the day is an occasion to pay tribute to the invaluable contributions of teachers, who nurture and shape the minds of children and youth, laying the foundation for a better future.

He stated that teachers are the guiding light in society, imparting knowledge, instilling values, and inspiring generations to dream and achieve. “Their dedication, patience, and selfless service continue to be the cornerstone of building an enlightened, progressive, and harmonious society,” Rio said.
