
Kohima, January 25 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, LA Ganesan, lauded the state’s contributions to India and its growing potential during his address on the eve of India’s 76th Republic Day.
A press release from the Governor commended the entrepreneurial spirit of Nagaland’s youth. the Governor noted that start-up registrations in the state have increased by over 200% compared to the previous year, reflecting a surge in innovation and economic growth. He encouraged citizens to harness resources, foster entrepreneurship, and contribute actively to the nation’s development.
He also emphasized Nagaland’s legacy of service, particularly through the Naga Regiment, which he described as “a beacon of courage, an embodiment of bravery and sacrifice, and a source of immense pride for both the state and the entire nation.”
Governor Ganesan highlighted the valor of the Naga Regiment, whose acts of bravery are deeply etched in the annals of India’s history. “Their unmatched patriotism and nationalism are not just narratives of the past but living inspirations for our present and future generations,” he said. Addressing the youth of Nagaland, he urged them to draw strength from the sacrifices of these brave individuals and to channel that inspiration into their journey toward nation-building.
As part of his message, the Governor called on the people of Nagaland to continue nurturing values of peace and progress while working hand-in-hand with the rest of the country.
Reflecting on the national significance of the day, Ganesan extended his greetings to all citizens of India, marking 76 years since the adoption of the Constitution. He described the Republic Day celebration as a moment to honor India’s shared journey as a sovereign democratic republic and to recommit to the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.
“India has made remarkable progress since its inception as a sovereign nation,” the Governor said, citing advancements in technology, education, health, and infrastructure, and India’s rise as a global economic power. He attributed much of this success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose guidance the nation has witnessed an unprecedented boom in the start-up ecosystem.
The Governor called upon all citizens of Nagaland and India to actively partake in the nation-building process with renewed dedication. “Patriotism and nationalism are the heartbeats of our nation, uniting us in our diversity,” he said.
The Governor urged citizens to uphold the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity as envisioned by the Constitution. “Let us pledge to work towards a future filled with hope and opportunities for all,” he said.
