Gov meets NCC mountaineering team

Kohima, April 16 (MExN): Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav met cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Nagaland at Lok Bhavan, Kohima on April 16, recognising their successful expedition to Mount Saramati.

Addressing the programme, the Governor commended the cadets for scaling Saramati Peak on March 19, 2026, along with their officers and staff. He described their effort as an example of unity, discipline and dedication.

The Governor also noted the participation of girl cadets and lady Associate NCC Officers in the expedition, pointing to their involvement in such activities.

He referred to initiatives undertaken by NCC Nagaland, including Vibrant Village visits, Yuva Aapda Mitra training, Youth and Alumni Festival, National Integration Camps and trekking activities. He also mentioned collaborations through MoUs with institutions such as NIELIT and ICAR.

The Governor stated that such initiatives contribute to national integration, personality development and skill-building among youth. He urged the cadets to remain committed to their responsibilities.

A total of 50 cadets and officials of the Mount Saramati Expedition Team were felicitated during the programme.
