Government all out to help disabled persons: Khing

Tseminyu Town | June 24 : Parliamentary secretary for horticulture R. Khing today asserted that the government is all out to help the disabled persons in the state. Dedicating a new office building of Rengma Handicapped Union (RHU) here this morning, Khing said the government will extend whatever way possible to assist the disabled persons.
The dedication of RHU office building, constructed by 41st Assam Rifles under Civic Action Project 2010-11, has brought cheers to the disabled persons under Tseminyu Sub Division. With this, RHU became the first handicapped organization in Nagaland to own its office building.
Referring to the disabled persons excelling in different fields, Khing encouraged them to use their talents adding that they can do wonders. Citing some disabled persons who gain popularity in the field of music, he termed it as “extra talent” from God. He stated that under this heaven, God has created every creature with purpose. “God has purpose for everyone and care for everyone of us.” Asking them to trust and believe in God, the parliamentary secretary pointed out that one cannot do anything if go against God’s will.
Lamenting on non availability of any facility from the government so far, RHU president Ngabu Tep made a fervent appeal to the government to extend help for the welfare of disabled persons under Tseminyu Sub Division. He informed that there are around 275 handicapped persons in Tseminyu sub division as per latest census.  RHU president thanked the social welfare department for enabling the RHU to observe World Disability Day this year through assistance from DWO. The Union has already submitted medical certificate of handicapped person to the concerned department.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Hilo Kent. The function was chaired by Thato Jemu. S. Kent senior pastor TTBC said invocation prayer and the function concluded with vote of thanks proposed by A. Abeni Seb, advisor, RHU.
