
Wokha, April 6 (MExN): Advisor for Agriculture and DPDB Wokha Chairman, Mhathung Yanthan while sharing various issues concerning the welfare of the district said, “Government is very serious about good governance and to bring change in the State.”
Chairing the Wokha DPDB meeting on April 6, Yanthan said, “We should give our best efforts to make DPDB an institution which is very effective and systematic institution as all important policies and programmes pertaining to our district are discussed in this platform.”
A DIPR report stated that the Advisor urged all officers to give their best service in order to bring about change and to benefit the district in the planning and developmental process. He also urged all departments and allied agencies to come out with common approach and systematic planning in regard to government programmes and policies for a progressive society.
Yanthan also suggested that aspirational villages for the four constituencies in the district should be continued. N/Longidang village under 37 Tyui AC, Humtso under 38 Wokha AC, Aree under 39 Sanis AC and Mekokla village under 40 Bhandari AC are selected for the next phase, stated the report.
Addressing the house, MLA Achumbemo Kikon suggested for revamping of Kyong Academy, and suggested for renaming of GFHSS Wokha to Mhondamo Memorial Higher Secondary School as Mhondamo being the first Graduate among the Lotha and the First Education Minister of the State.
Supplementing on the issue raised by Advisor Yanthan, in regard to Human Elephant conflict in the district, Kikon stated that department concern should come out with preventive measures to ensure “this issued is addressed as majority of the people in the rural areas and villagers depend on farming for their sustainability.”
MLA Mhonbemo Humtsoe, who also spoke during the meeting, assured that he will do his best for the benefit of the district and work in co-ordination with the other elected representatives in the district. He urged all departments to extend support while in the process of implementing the government policies and programmes.
