Kohima, June 30 (MExN): On the occasion of National Doctors’ Day, Nagaland Governor R N Ravi expressed gratitude to the doctors and other healthcare professionals who have been tirelessly and selflessly working to save lives amidst the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
The Governor acknowledged the medical fraternity for their yeoman service to humanity putting their own lives at high risk and often cut off from their near and dear ones.
Since the Coronavirus outbreak, many doctors and other healthcare professionals have lost their lives in the line of their duty, the Governor stated while paying tribute to the “Corona Martyrs.”
He also decried the unfortunate incidents of violence against doctors and healthcare professionals reported from some parts of the country, terming them unacceptable to a civilized society and called for outright condemnation and exemplary punishment to the perpetrators.
“On this occasion, I wish the medical fraternity all the best,” the Governor stated in his message on Wednesday.
