Kohima, May 13 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi on Thursday extended Eid greetings to the people of the State.
“Eid festival is also known as the festival of breaking the fast. This festival is a religious festival celebrated worldwide by the Muslim community. It signifies the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramazan,” the Governor stated in his message.
While wishing all good health, and happy celebrations, he urged everyone to take precautionary measures by observing COVID-19 protocols throughout the celebrations.
Dimapur Bengali Samaj: Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the Dimapur Bengali Samaj sent cordial and heartfelt greeting on the occasion of Eid -Ul-Fitar, the festival of ending the fast.
“May this festival bring in peace, happiness and prosperity and fellow feeling. May the almighty help us overcome the difficult times humanity is going through. May the occasion mark the end of all our troubles,” K K Paul, President of the Samaj stated.
NPF Minority Wing: The NPF Minority Wing Central and Dimapur Division extended warm greetings to the Muslim community of Nagaland and neighbouring area on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Bishnu Bhattacharjee, Central President of the Wing expressed hope that the joyous occasion would be the herald of sustained peace, progress, prosperity and happiness.
He also hoped that the festival would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood and amity. The NPF Minority Wing also prayed for the citizens who are suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
