Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland requests the Assam Rifles and security forces to withdraw from areas in Urra village in Dimapur. The government wrote an official letter addressed to the Inspector General of the Assam Rifles today to withdraw the security forces on grounds that the law and order situation in the area has “normalized now.” A letter signed by Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Lalthara was received here today. “I enclose herewith a representation from Urra Area Village’s Union, Dimapur forwarded by Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, dated 18th January, 2012 with a request to withdraw the security forces from Urra area which is causing serious inconvenience to the common people of the area as well as students due to frisking and occupation of the school,” the government said. “Since the law and order situation in the area has normalized now, it is requested that the security forces deployed in the above said locations may be immediately withdrawn from the area.”
