Govt blamed for Ntangki bloodshed

Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization (TPO) today blamed the state government for the lawlessness in Intangki.  The TPO denounced the murder of two persons and injury to two others by some “yet unidentified gunmen” on June 30 in the Intangki National Park.
“The TPO strongly feels that the government is responsible for the lawlessness at Ntangki and asserts that Ntangki should not be made a battlefield amongst the Naga brothers,” the TPO said in statement appended by its chief executives.
The killers whoever they are “seemed to be revealing their thinking of those who got them to do the evil deed, that what they want for themselves is more important than the lives of fellow human beings and the long-term common good of the Nagas,” the TPO said.
“Their attempt to try to manipulate the on-going Intanki crisis to serve their advantage regardless of the possible dire consequences is poorly concealed. TPO rejects the thinking and the tactics as unacceptable for our developing society and calls upon all Nagas to take the same stand,” the organization said.
The TPO reiterates ‘due legal and non-violent process’ in pursuing to save Intanki’s 20,202 hectares “for all Nagas and of mankind.” The TPO said it is the only sustainable, justifiable and safe way to save and preserve “our common priceless heritage because it is ethical and legal, and fair to the original donors of the land and the rest of the Nagas who will benefit from the park for posterity.”

Zeliangrong Baudi
The Zeliangrong Baudi has also condemned the killing, calling it a cowardly act. “To take the Law in one’s own hands is an act which cannot be tolerated in today’s civilized society,” a note from the Zeliangrong Baudi stated today. “Bloodshed cannot solve any issue among the Nagas and it was unfortunate that the barbaric incident took place inside our district. We appeal the general public to remain calm and composed so that communalism and tribalism is nipped in the bud,” the ‘hoho’ stated in a note from its media cell.
The Zeliangrong Baudi also appealed to the Nagas to preserve Ntangki National Park “at any cost.”  “Problems can be avoided if we make good and wise decisions today,” and that “certain forces are bent to create problems and misunderstandings among the Nagas; but at a point of time when killing is on the rise, the Nagas must remain united to withstand any outer challenge and threat.”
The organization also appreciated the intervention of the district administration “which took stock of the situation on time.”
The ‘hoho’ stated – “The government must make sure that no untoward incidents takes place again inside the district by instilling security and safety among the common men. At a time when the Nagas dream of peace and reconciliation, killing, extortion and anti-social activities must be avoided at all cost. We also appeal the national workers to maintain patience, sincerity and commitment while carrying out their duties to keep peace and tranquility intact.”

NPF flays blast, Intangki killing

Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) today condemned the violence in Dimapur and Peren, calling it “unfortunate.”
“It is unfortunate that unscrupulous miscreants created such panic, commotion and lose of precious human lives through their barbaric acts,” a note from the NPF’s media cell stated today. The NPF went so far as to claim that the “government has not wasted any time in handling the situation and the prompt and careful intervention of the administration and police.”
Things “are very much under control and it is assured that the culprits will be brought to light at the earliest and for this very cause,” the party said.  The NPF also referred to what it called the NPCC’s “habitual ill remarks” on the DAN government and “attempt to grab any thing for political mileage only exposes their unduly selfish and irresponsible attitude.”
“The action of the mindless perpetrators who hurled a bomb inside the M/S. Y. Enterprises at 3rd mile and the unidentified miscreants who attacked Inavi/United Naga village for selfish motive deserve condemnation in the highest form by one and all irrespective of caste, tribe, greet (sic) or colour including all political parties.”
The NPF expresses condolences to the bereaved family members of the deceased and the injured.
