‘Govt. employees have no guardian’

Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): Stating that the state government employees of the different departments entirely looks upon the ministers as their protectors and defenders of any mistake or wrong doing that might take place within or outside the department, Adviser, United Nags Democratic Socialist Party, Chumukedima, Dimapur, T. A Ngullie staid that he was compelled to write this article because of the actions of ministers in two different occasions/incidents.

Referring to  the September 15, 2010 incident involving the 12 IRB of Nagaland near Golaghat which was “regretted” which officially means the state government has made apology without proper investigation of the situation and the nature of the incident particularly actions of the armed security when they are on official duties. Ngullie expressed that the government of Nagaland through the Cabinet meeting unofficially condemned the action of the 12 IRB which was one sided decision.

Secondly, Ngullie referred the September 30, 2010 Purulia (Bengal West) incident involving the IRB of Nagaland in which it was reported that the Nagaland IRB fired upon two civilians for defying the orders and by not stopping at the Police Check Post. “But without properly assessing the situation and the motives of the jawans, the statement of the State home minister is unacceptable and the Home minister should understand whether this firing was done in performing the duties for the nation or not and cannot be termed as unfortunate but consider seriously that it has been done in adherence of the duties assigned to them” Ngullie said. He also expressed “At most I want the Home Minister to express heartfelt sympathy towards the people who died and who were injured. Anything compensatory or allowance that might be related, it is the duty and responsibility of the West Bengal State Government to look after the families and the Nagaland State Government have to stand at all cost.”

The UNDSP Adviser further stated “I have cited these examples to let the government of Nagaland know as how to protect and perform as the masters and guardians of the employees,” and added that anything done by the hard works and the intellectual contributions of the government employees makes the government strong and achieve all round developments for the people of the state of Nagaland.
