‘Govt servant setting up illegal village’

DIMAPUR, APRIL 17 (MExN): Chairmen of the Jalukie Old Village Council and the Jalukie Pumling Nko today said it had come to their knowledge that a Government servant, working as HD DB at Dhansiripar is establishing 'a new Phukaho Village' in the land belonging to Jalukie Village without the landowner’s authorization.

“No one can practice or (deny) the living Naga Customary Laws for self-gain and it is not the duty of a Govt. employee to create such problem,” the chairmen said. Lothavi Village has no right to allot him land in our Village Land as he claimed in a press statement titled, “Rejoinder to DC Peren order,” it was said.

“It is so cheap to establish a Village by showing some documents as formality sake as claimed by him,” a counter rejoinder said, “But forceful dwelling in others’ land without authorization is illegal and a crime which may create problems and misunderstanding among the Nagas than to get blessing from above.”

Traditionally all the land which lies in between “Bara Mungleu and Nkworeu (Lanlung) River upto Dhansiri belongs to us from time immemorial up to date,” it said.

“Therefore, Law enforcing Agencies should not hesitate to take action against such unauthorized Villages without further delay.”
