Govt take survey of new HQ Jalukie

In pursuance of the Zeliangrong Hoho’s declaration of Jalukie as Peren District’s head quarters a host of officials led by Mhabemo Yanthan, ADC HQ Nagaland undertook a survey around the designated site here yesterday.

Expressing satisfaction at the suitability of the designated site, he assured that the “planning observation” shall be forwarded to the cabinet for a final decision. “It’s a beautiful land” he commented “And I shall give my report”. The Assistant Commissioner was accompanied by K Thunou, Engineer CAWD, Zanbemo Ngullie, and District Town Planners Kohima along with executives of the Zeliangrong Hoho and Jalukie village elders.

Regarding the proposal for setting up a sports/games complex adjacent to District headquarter which will extend up to 8-10 kilometers. Land owners reiterated their magnanimous stance and assured that they would willingly spare any required land if the Government sincerely commit itself towards its completion, so that it could be at par with internationally reputed complexes.

It may be mentioned at present there are at least around 10-12 grounds dotting along a distance of 1-2 kilometers in Jalukie Valley. Meanwhile Heikiding, Hoho Chief Planner, said that since the chosen ‘model town’ is the third planned city in the country next to Chandigarh and Bangalore, he urged upon the Government to give a smooth touch to the laying of its foundation.
