Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): The GPRN/NNC (AB) Council of Kilonsers, army wings, and Tatars has “strongly condemned” SS Pongkho and his group for allegedly attempting to tarnish the image of the organisation and its Kilo Kilonser, Kitoho H Zhimomi.
In a press release issued by its MIP after an emergency meeting held on August 31, the group stated that Pongkho, who “had already been terminated by all groups of NNPG for moral degradation, financial corruption, and dictatorial behavior,” has “no authority to use the name of GPRN/NNC (AB).”
It described his actions as “repeated attempts to meddle in the Naga national movement and discredit the organization,” which it said were “acts of frustration and self-interest.”
The GPRN/NNC (AB) reminded all national workers that “the lives and sacrifices made by thousands of dedicated national workers must be honored and revered. No individual should shamelessly exploit their legacy for personal gain.”
The statement added that Pongkho’s “act of appointing his own self-styled general secretaries and Kilonsers to mislead the public only reflects his desperation after being ousted.”
On his participation in the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) meetings, the group clarified that Pongkho’s claim of attending as a personal achievement was “misleading, as he was only allowed to participate when he was still an official representative of GPRN/NNC (AB), prior to his impeachment and termination.”
Referring to allegations he made in the media on August 21, the organisation said they were “baseless and concocted solely to malign the good image of GPRN/NNC (AB).” It asserted that Pongkho had been “warned strictly against using the organisation’s name” and that his continued misuse of it “only exposes his malicious intent.”
The GPRN/NNC (AB) cautioned all concerned to “disregard such false claims” and reaffirmed its commitment to “safeguarding the honor and integrity of the national movement.”
