GPRN/NSCN and UGN/NNC (PB) announce merger agreement

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN (Naga Unification) under the leadership of President Gen (Retd) MB Neokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser Ino Alezo Venuh; and the UGN/NNC (PB) led by its president Kilitsangkhih Yimkhiung today proclaimed a merger agreement, formalized through a memorandum on September 1.

According to the merger proclamation, “both parties, recognizing the profound historical, political and national imperative, and being fully conscious of the greater cause of Naga unity, peace, and reconciliation, have mutually agreed upon the complete and unconditional merger of the United Government of Nagaland (UGN/NNC-PB) into the fold of the GPRN/NSCN (Unification) with effect from the 1st day of September 2025, subject to the following terms and conditions.”

The agreement stated that “the UGN/NNC (PB), under the leadership of its president, Kilitsangkhih Yimkhiung together with all national workers and functionaries of the organization, having deliberated upon the contemporary realities and political dynamics of the ongoing Indo-Naga peace process, has unanimously resolved to merge completely and irrevocably with the GPRN/NSCN (Unification).”

It further noted that “the entire leadership and national workers of the UGN/NNC (PB) will, with absolute unanimity, extend unwavering loyalty, support and cooperation to the collective leadership of His Excellency, President, General (Retd) MB Neokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser Ino Alezo.”
