GPRN/NSCN on Khaplang appointing Gen. Niki

In 2012, Mr. Khaplang had written to Western Nagas through FNR not to interfere in his affairs in Burma, while assuring that he will not interfere in the political affairs in western sector. That was a clear indication and perhaps the most practical decision which GPRN/NSCN duly acknowledged and appreciated.

On 18th March, 2014, there was a tiny space in the local dailies mentioning SS Khaplang’s order, appointing Gen. Niki as his finance In-charge. Whether or not the order originated from Khaplang is a different issue, but the manner in which a military commander in the rank of a Major General reduced to a mere collector is something unheard of. The prime minister allocates portfolios in consultation with the president under normal procedures.

In today’s age, revolutionary conducts and ethics, be it during peacetime or wartime must be acceptable to the people. And GPRN/NSCN do not subscribe to dictatorship mindset and approach. The order of SS Khaplang cannot be implemented in Nagaland since his demand has been fulfilled by Myanmar government.

On March 11, 2014, a GPRN/NSCN cadre was injured at Kohima, when he was accosted by the Khaplang group and shot at. The perpetrators have been identified. GPRN/NSCN do not wish to disturb the peaceful atmosphere. Patience need not be tested further.

GPRN/NSCN requests the Naga people against subscribing to such bogus demands as it only legitimises mafia culture. On its part, GPRN/NSCN shall be on a lookout and identify all those demanding tax in the name of General Niki. Those civilians found collaborating with K group, collecting and transacting on their (Khaplang) behalf shall be seriously dealt with.

Ministry of Information & Publicity,
GPRN/NSCN
