DIMAPUR, APRIL 17 (MexN): The GPRN/NSCN “in true spirit of brotherhood whole heartedly” conveyed its heartfelt appreciation to Inno S.S. Khaplang, the President of NSCN (K) for tireless efforts rendered for peace truce with Myanmar Government to end the decades old conflict, which will soon sign a bilateral cease-fire with the junta backed civilian government to forge out a solution to the Naga political problem in Myanmar. “It is a long felt cherished goal of Nagas in general, ‘a dream come true’ deservIing appreciation for astounding achievement from every peace loving Nagas”, stated a press note from the Ministry of Information and Publicity, GPRN/NSCN, Designated Camp, Khehoi.

“On observing the transformation of political scenario taking place across Myanmar, the Nagas comprising of 27 tribes living in the militarized state of junta has at last regained some hope of relief from ‘trauma and fear psychosis’. Better life seems to be propelling around with regard to the progress of democratic government. The Eastern Nagas brethrens have endured enough humiliation under the regime of the junta. They are still living in an age of primitive state of affairs. The Nagas have so much been neglected, compelling them to live as second class denizens”, noted the MIP note.

The GPRN/NSCN stated that the “peace truce which is about to be signed between Myanmar and Nagas of Myanmar is good news for Nagas in general” and that it was a sign of “positive transformation for the displaced Nagas of Myanmar to re-organise themselves which has been anticipated since long time back”.

The GPRN/NSCN stated that it will extend all possible help towards the suffering of Naga brothers living in Myanmar and expressed its hope that “Nagas of Myanmar will create no more problems or confusion towards the political destiny of Nagaland”. “The political fate of Nagas of Nagaland should be left to the people of Nagaland. We sincerely believe in brotherhood relationship which will be maintained at any cost but we also expect that the Nagas of Nagaland should be left free of troubles and harassment in terms of taxations or whatsoever is our presumption and expectation from our Naga brothers from Myanmar”, the MIP note stated.

As appealed by the Naga Hoho and various NGO’s in the past, the GPRN/NSCN stated that the ‘political destiny of Nagas of Myanmar should be left to his Excellency the President S S Khaplang, NSCN(K)’ and ‘political destiny of Nagas of Nagaland be left to the people of Nagaland’.
