Grief and condemnation over suspected murder of Nagaland cop

Public demand investigating agencies to expedite process of investigation and bring culprits to the judgment table

Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): Several civil societies, organisations and individuals have condemned the alleged killing of Lt. Neiphretuo Metseio of Chiechama Village between Lasumi and Zapami Village under Zuketsa Circle, Pfutsero Sub-Division. The deceased is from Chiechama Village under Kohima District posted as Inspector 5th NAP C’ Coy at Pfutsero under Phek District.  

Tangkhul Hoho Nagaland: The Tangkhul Hoho Nagaland (THN) while condemning the alleged murder of Neiphretuo Metsie-o expressed shock and outrage. “As a community, we bow our heads in shame to hear that the murder was allegedly committed by a couple belonging to our community. Such a vicious act has no place in our culture, and the alleged murderers do not represent us in any way,” THN, President, Lungmi Kasar stated in a condemnation note.  

The Hoho has offered their sincere condolences to the bereaved family, especially to the wife and the four children. “We are saddened by your tragic loss and pray that the Almighty would grant solace at this difficult time. We also extend all possible help to the law enforcing agencies in having the culprits arrested and punished befittingly at the earliest possible time. Our community stands together in full support to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice,” the Hoho added.  

Pfutsero Town Public: The Pfutsero Town Public held a meeting on September 15 in the heart of Pfutsero Town in connection with the alleged murder of Neiphretuo Metsie-o and condemned the killing committed within the Pfutsero jurisdiction which has tarnished the image and peaceful co-existence of Pfutsero Area. Ward Chairman Pfutsero Town, Convenor, Mesulo Khalo and Pfutsero Town Youth Organisation President Obed Yhobu in a press release stated that the Pfutsero Area has sorrowfully share the solidarity of the bereaved family and prayed that God give them peace and solace.  

Chakhesang Public Organisation: The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) has vehemently condemned the alleged murder incident stating that “the Chakhesangs shall not tolerate such act of barbarism on the part the murderers who has the nerve to commit such heinous crime in broad day light within Chakhesang jurisdiction.”  

CPO, President, Kekhwengulo Lea and General Secretary, Mutsivoyi Kotso has urged upon the investigating agencies and administration to expedite the process of investigation, and leave no stone unturned to bring the culprits to book at the earliest. It also opined that such act of extreme cowardice deserves the highest degree of punishment.  

Meanwhile, CPO cautioned social media users to refrain from spreading false rumours that could caused communalism, and further expressed its deepest condolence to the grief stricken families. “We stand with you in solidarity at this hour of grief, sadness and pain. We stand with you as fellow Nagas. May God grant divine solace and comfort to your families, and welcome the dearly departed soul into His bosom,” stated the CPO.  

Dy CM Y Patton: The Dy Chief Minister, Y Patton has expressed his anguish on learning about the tragic dead of Lt. Niephretou Metsie-o. The Dy CM in a condemnation note issued through its Media Cell urged the law enforcing agencies to thoroughly investigate the nature of the dead and to bring to book the culprits at the earliest so as to award a befitting punishment to the perpetrators as per the law of the land. The Dy CM has offered his deepest condolence to the bereaved families and prayed that the departed soul Rest In Peace.  

Advisor Er Zale Neikha: The Advisor of Youth Resources & Sports & Chairman DPDB, Kohima Er. Zale Neikha stated that "it is unfortunate and sad that inhumane cases of kidnap and murder once unknown in Naga society have become more prominent in the recent past." The Advisor expressed extreme shock by the news of the alleged murder of Lt. Neiphretuo Metsieo, and whose dead body has been found between Zapami and La sumi village under Pfutsero district. “I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family, loved and dear ones in this moment of grief,” he conveyed. While condemning the heinous crime, the Advisor also earnestly appeal to the citizens of Naga society to have that brotherly attitude of respect, love and compassion and let peace prevail in our land. “I strongly appeal to the concerned authority to book and bring the culprits to the judgment table and be given befitting punishment as per the law,” he added.  

Angami Youth Organization: The Angami Youth Organization (AYO) has expressed extreme pain by the alleged murder of Neiphretuo Metsieo. APO in a press statement it said that it is pained by “these continuous murdering spree and vehicle thefts. It is totally unacceptable and cannot be tolerated.” AYO demanded the government to immediately arrest the perpetrators.  

Chakhesang Youth Front: The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) in its strongest term has condemned the alleged murder of Neiphretuo Metsie-O, Inspector 5th NAP ‘C’ Coy Pfutsero hailing from Chiechama village.  

The CYF is shocked at the way in which the criminal act was carried out and questioned at the security of an ordinary citizen if the law enforcers have also become the victim of such crime. The CYF also strongly object to the criminal act of murder under its jurisdiction and warns the perpetrators with severest consequences once they are caught, the Front stated in a press release issued by its President, Lhuvesayi Lohe and General Secretary Medovelo Sono.  

The CYF also assured its fullest co-operation to assist the investigating authorities to nab the culprits involved in the heinous crime, and strongly urge the law enforcing authorities to arrest the perpetrators and book with befitting punishment as per the law of the land.  

Further, the CYF also mourns with the loved ones and village community of Lt. Neiphretuo Metsie-o at this time of grief and sorrow, and convey deepest condolence.  

Khezha/KhuzhaTephe Public Organization: The Khezha/KhuzhaTephe Public Organization vehemently condemn the alleged murder of Lt. Neiphretuo Metsieo. The organisation in a condemnation note issued by its president Z. Kepfhelhou Koza and General Secretary (Admn) Pfuche Koza condemned the senseless and barbaric act of murdering in cold blood and tragically cutting short of a promising police officer. Such crime is intolerable and deserves highest degree punishment. “Also, we will not tolerate such heinous act carried out within the vicinity and bringing shame and fear psychosis to the society,” it stated while urging the concern authorities and law enforcing agencies to leave no stone unturned but thoroughly investigate and book the perpetrators with befitting punishments deems fit. Further, the organisation shared their grief and conveyed deepest condolence to the bereaved family and relatives.  

Kuzha Tephe Public organization: The Kuzha Tephe Public organization (KTPO) has vehemently condemned the alleged murder of Inspector Neiphretuo Metsie-o. The KTPO expressed its resentment over the barbaric killing and condemned the crime. The KTPO strongly condemned the crime which has tarnished the image and peaceful co-existence within its area. “The organization requests the concern authority to book the culprits at the earliest to avoid awkward situation,” KTPO, President, Senokha Losou and General Secretary, Weto Kapfo stated in a press note. In the meantime, the KTPO shared the grief and sorrow and prayed to bring peace and solace to the bereaved family.  

Tenyimi Youth Organization: The Tenyimi Youth Organization (TYO) Dimapur has strongly condemned the alleged murder of Neiphretuo Metseio. “We are shock and outraged by the murder of a young and dynamic officer whose life has been tragically taken away. Such vicious act has no place in the society,” TYOD, President, Thejangulie Angami and General Secretary, Khrozote Kapfo in a condemnation note while expressing anguish over the horrendous crime, appeal and remind the law enforcing agency that, “as the heinous Crime was committed in Nagaland and if the culprit is caught outside Nagaland he or she must be brought in Nagaland for legal action with proper investigation and trial. No one should try to shelter the criminals and nurture them for their own welfare.” The TYO also offered deepest condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty would grant solace at this difficult time.  

Zuketsa Area Public Organization: The Zuketsa Area Public Organization (ZAPO) has strongly condemned the alleged killing of Neiphretuo Metsieo in their jurisdiction. The Organization is shocked and pained by the cold blooded murder and inhuman killing and while strongly condemning such inhuman act, demands the investigating authority to leave no stone unturned and give befitting punishment to all the culprits. The Organization will not tolerate such acts within our jurisdiction. Zuketsa Area is not a playfield for criminals to do their nefarious activities, so, the organization will not shy away until justice is being delivered. ZAPO General Secretary Rite Khutso and Vice-President Sabou Krome have also conveyed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family.  

Kandi Public Union: The Kandi Public Union (KPU) has vehemently condemned the alleged murder of Late Neiphretuo Metsie-o by unknown miscreants for no reason. KPU General Secretary, Hethinon Mesen paid tribute to the departed soul and also conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family. “We pray that his soul rest in peace while God grants strength to the family,’ the Union added.  

Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party: The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has expressed deep shock at the alleged murder of Inspector Neiphretuo Metsie-o by “some blood-thirsty miscreants.” NDPP Media & Communications Committee in a press release stated that such barbarism has no place in civilised society.” The NDPP appealed to the State Government and the law enforcing agencies to leave no stone unturned so that the murderers are brought to justice at the earliest. The people are requested to extend their kind cooperation in the investigation process in the interest of justice. The NDPP expressed deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members, relatives and friends of late Neiphretuo.  

Tenyimi Students Union Dimapur: The Tenyimi Students Union Dimapur (TSUD) has vehemently condemned the alleged murder of Inspector Neiphretuo. A condemnation issued by TSUD Advisor, Neitho Khusoh and General Secretary A. Shyerhunlo Lorin, appeal to the administration, law enforcing agences and special investigation team to award the murder befitting punishment as per law. It also stated that such acts of lawless killing should be condemned by all and further conveyed condolences to the bereaved families.
