DIMAPUR, AUGUST 5 (MExN): A one-day training programme on Goods and Services Tax (GST) was conducted on Tuesday for Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), registered dealers, and key stakeholders at the Training Centre of the Commissioner of Taxes, Lengrijan, Dimapur.
Organised by the Department of Taxes, Government of Nagaland, the training aimed to enhance awareness and compliance related to GST provisions.
Additional Commissioner of Taxes, Lima Imsong, who chaired the programme, emphasised the need for up-to-date knowledge on GST procedures, return filing, and compliance mandates. He stated that a sound understanding of GST is essential for smooth financial operations and for contributing to the state’s revenue system.
Resource persons from the department made detailed presentations covering GST registration, e-way bills, return filing, tax deductions at source (TDS), penalties, and recent rule updates. The interactive sessions enabled participants from various departments, local businesses, and trade associations to address practical challenges.
